About Kara Egbert

Among the many things that attract Kara Egbert to Sahuarita was the
appeal of a close-knit community. Sahuarita was like her home town of
Liberty, Missouri, a vital, growing community that expressed its values
by living in friendship, good-neighbored helpfulness, and compassion for
all. Like Liberty, Sahuarita is maintaining its small town values as it
grows in size and raises its levels of service to its residents.
Assisting
in this process and a passion for our community is what inspired Kara
to seek a seat on the Sahuarita Town Council. She was elected to serve
in 2009. “”For Our City’ is Sahuarita’s way of building our sense of
community. By committing to working together and exploring each
opportunity to make us better, we respond as good neighbors and helpful,
compassionate friends. “For Our City – Sahuarita’ strengthens our
community, fosters healthy growth, and makes our town a better place to
call home.”
Kara Egbert earned a Bachelor of Science degree in
Recreation Management from Brigham Young University. She worked for
several cities in Utah managing recreation programs, fitness centers and
parks. She was involved with special events such as First Night and
the Freedom Festival in Provo, Utah. Egbert ran soccer programs that
included over 250 youth teams. She also helped run one of the largest
fitness centers in the state of Utah. When Egbert moved to Arizona she
volunteered to be on the Sahuarita Parks and Recreation Commission and
served as the Chairperson for two years. She currently volunteers in
her children's classrooms at school and is the Committee Chair for one
of the local Cub Scout packs.
Kara is married and has five
children ranging from nine years old to under a year. She enjoys
serving on the Town Council and is excited about what the future holds
for Sahuarita. She looks forward to improving communication from the
town to the residents as well as bringing the town together with special
events and service opportunities. She will continue working hard to
keep our small town values in our growing community.
